Day @ The Spa

   Today we went to the spa! Well, Roque and Mickey had spa treatments anyway. I sadly didn't get the luxury of getting my hair done and manicures. Why is it that dogs just don't appreciate spa treatments like humans do?

    Cookies was a special member of our family for 14 years. She was my first dog and much loved by our whole family. Stubborn, protective, a cuddle bug and a fighter. She will be missed forever. We love you Cookies. <3

No Screams, Only Sweet Dreams

    I think so far the most difficult thing that Ian and I have had to deal with since having baby Ashlyn, is her late evening fits of screaming for hours on end. But I think we've figured it out. It's been over four days, four happy days.

Sunny Day at RiverCliff

   
     Finally the grass is starting to come back, the sun was out, the temperature was perfect. It was a gorgeous day and I couldn't help myself. I packed up baby, paws and me and headed out to the ranch.

Welcome to Vegas!

    "Vegas" joined our extended paw family on the 13th of February, my sister's new companion and future partner in the agility ring as well as other sports. She's an absolute doll and we love her personality.

The New Me

    This is the new me. The same person, but different hair and a different life. I was blonde, now I'm brunette. I wasn't a mom, now I am. I wasn't married, now I am. My hair is different, my life is different, but I'm still the same person inside. After twenty two years, it was time for a little change. What do you think?

Superbowl 2011

    This year Sunday the 6th wasn't just another day with something planned, something to do. This year Sunday the 6th was my day outside of home, our day out. This year's Superbowl Sunday was the perfect opportunity for so many things.

    It's been four very long weeks since I've seen my horses. Even longer if you count in the fact that I never even really saw my ponies the last time I was at my ranch, seeing as I went into labor on the way there and left without ever stopping to say hello. Not that they would have wanted to see me, me being a bit crabby and all. I thought they'd understand.

Snow Puppies

   Once every couple hundred years (or so it seems), it snows in central Texas. This morning was one of those very rare mornings we woke up to find white fluffy powder covering the ground. This year it's even staying on the ground for a couple hours, and it even snowed in the city!

Down-stays and Kitchen Duty

    Being a new mom, I'm short on time... and sleep. My poor pups don't understand this though. What's changed? Why don't they get as much attention anymore? When will we go outside and learn new tricks? The poor things are a bit confused! So, my task is to do as much as I possibly can to keep them occupied while simultaneously being a new mom, a wife and for the next three weeks studying for my final exam to become a certified dog trainer. And these are my tricks.

Bathtime!

    Bath time!! Ashlyn's first bath! She loved it so much. I was deathly afraid she would hate it, or that I made the water too warm, or that I would get soap in her eyes, or any other thing you could possibly think of. I tend to worry, if you couldn't tell.

Lets walk

 

   Yesterday was an absolutely beautiful day, so we decided to take a walk! All four of us! Mickey, Roque, Ashlyn and me. We got some sun, fresh air and some good quality time together. Of course, Ashlyn isn't sure yet whether she likes the car seat or not. I hope she gets used to it soon.

Labor of Love

   Before Ashlyn was born my husband's grandmother and Ashlyn's great grandmother decided she wanted to cross stitch a special blanket for Ashlyn. Together we went to the store and picked out the pattern. This was back in like September or October. For months she's worked so hard on this precious blanket for baby girl.
