RHS Donatello
"Donny" was one of a kind. An '08 Hanoverian/Saddlebred/Quarter Horse bred and raised by us. He's had the personality of a hundred horses put together. Stubborn, eager to please, genuinely curious, an attention seeker, intelligent, difficult, crazy and adorable. He's was just "all of the above" when it comes to personality traits.
In October 2013 we said goodbye to our handsome boy from an injury.

October Sky
"Babe" was my baby... a '93 off the track Thoroughbred born and raised in Texas. He taught me so much and will never be forgotten. After having a rough young life as a racehorse, Babe competed for 7 years as a Hunter/Jumper and 2 years as a first level dressage horse. At the young age of 12 he retired to pasture to enjoy the simple life of being "just a horse".
October 2013 Babe was laid to rest. Gone but never forgotten.

Roustabout's Kyra Mae
"Kyra" was a steadfast loyal companion. She never questioned, always went above and beyond, tried her hardest and worked even harder. She was everything you could have asked for in a dog. She protected without regards to her own safety until the very end. We will love her and miss her forever. It's like there is a big gaping hole in our lives now that she is gone.
Romeo
| 1996 - 8/9/2010 |
To be perfectly honest, Romeo was everything I never wanted and everything I ever wanted in a horse all at the same time. But because of that, he taught me more than I could ever be taught by any other horse. Most of all he taught me patience, and faith. He also taught me that beauty can mask underlying issues and pain. And that anger is an emotion that a horse feels as a direct result of unsolved pain, whether emotionally or physically.
After three plus years of suffering from multiple severe injuries and multiple painful surgeries, Romeo is at peace now. He will feel no more suffering, no more anger, no more hate for this world. Rest in peace my handsome boy.
Little Teddy Bear Bandit
"Teddy" was probably the best dog I've ever owned. Technically he was my sister's, but, as with all my sister's animals, I felt like he was mine too. He passed away at a very very young age, and we miss him terribly. Cookies misses him even, the dog who doesn't like other dogs. That's how loveable he was, even dog haters loved Teddy.
Teddy was happy, just plain happy. Never grouchy, never sad, never anything but happy and silly. For a shih-tzu he was a BIG boy! Weighing in over 22 pounds! And he wasn't fat either, just big! (if you know me at all, you know I despise overweight dogs.. not the dogs themselves, but the fact that their owners let them get overweight) But that didn't stop him from enjoying life to the fullest. He passed his Canine Good Citizen test with flying colors, he would have been the worlds greatest therapy dog. He loved people, kids and adults alike.
He was a truly an amazing dog, so much so that my aunt named her own Shih-tzu after him. Teddy Bear II. As bizarre as it is, Teddy II is the spitting image of Teddy and the exact same temperament. Everything about them is the same, even though they have no genetic relation to each other. Teddy II lives in Florida with my Aunt, being loved and cherished.
Cookies -n- Cream
"Cookies" is was a quite a bit older than in this picture. A stubborn, adorable, shih-tzu. My first dog. My first "own" dog, though I still believe that she preferred my mom to me. I don't blame her though, I used to dress her up. I would have avoided me too! Cookies lived with my parents, she had only one eye (from a long ago dog fight she started), was almost entierly blind and pretty much deaf. The poor thing still got around my parent's very large house, including making it up and down a very massive set of stairs. She'd been around long enough to raise seven puppies (two of them being temporary residents), despite the fact that she dislikes every dog on the planet. He best friend, Teddy, was the only dog she truly enjoyed the company of and she was heartbroken when he passed.
