Christmas Part II

I think one of the best parts to Christmas was towards the end of the day. My sister and I got to take my aunt out on a trail ride on our beautiful property in Spicewood, TX.

Thanksgiving, Christmas, and More

   Well, time for some updates again. Christmas has come and gone this year. So many things have changed in just the short month and a half since my last blog post. So many pictures to share it's not even funny!

   Well. I would like to introduce our newest horse! We have quite the collection of paint mares now. It's actually really awesome, looking out into our pasture seeing three beautiful colored mares grazing peacefully.

So Much ; Part II

Welcoming two new horses to our barn was both very exciting and emotionally difficult so soon after saying goodbye to my boys. It helped distract me but also has made me miss my boys even more.

So Much ; Part I

    I am a very routine oriented person. I like routine, I like rhythm, I like what I know, and I like boring. I don't like change, I don't like new, and I especially don't like unexpected twists in the plot.

Shattered Glass

 Two weekends ago I got a new back patio door! It was not necessarily an expected addition to our home. But necessity after a rock shattered our previous one. Bad rock!

Time Marches On

It recently has occurred to me (or rather slapped me in the face) that I have moved on to another phase in my life. Not just being a mom, or having a house... But having almost entirely given up something that has been a part of my life since I was just 8 years old.

Kids Say the Darnedest Things

   Ashlyn has finally hit the age where she is just saying and doing all these really funny and cute things. All day, every day. For example, today she decided to do my at home workout with me. Doing planks, push ups, sit ups, lunges, jumping jacks, bicycle crunches, and more. Of course, she modified all the movements to her like, but it was darn cute.

A New Adventure

  It's official. A new adventure has begun in my life, as a freelance makeup artist. I've never done anything like this before, but I'm really looking forward to trying something new. Makeup has always been a passion of mine. It's my art, my self expression. Now I'll get to share my art with the world. 

4th of July 2013

    This year Ashlyn was finally old enough to enjoy fireworks! And boy did she! At first she was a little scared, she kept covering her ears and telling us "scared..." In her tiny little voice. But after a few minutes she never wanted them to stop!

It has really been awhile...

   I'm not sure where I've been! Well, I do know.. but no excuses. I really want to keep up with this blog. It acts as a journal for me, one day I can share it with my family and kids when they are old enough to understand. But until then, I'm sharing with you!

Mysterious Lameness ... again

    It really shouldn't come as a shock to anyone that one of my horses is injured.. again.. I don't even know what happened this time. Part of me having a house and no car means I don't get to see my horses as much. It's hard, but it's hopefully just temporary. Even if I had been around more I don't think I would have known what happened anyway. Stuff just happens to my horses.

A 90th Birthday

  My husband's grandfather just turned 90! He's an amazing man that has such a history and rich life story. For his 90th birthday a very large family/friend reunion and birthday party was planned in Midland, TX. Of course we went!

Crazy Awesome Weekend

  This last weekend was awesome, and exhausting! And ... BABY FREE. Yes, you heard me right. Hubby surprised me with a baby free weekend full of spontaneous adventure. Something that never happens when you have children. And I only have one kid, so for you moms of more than one... my hat goes off you...

Easter 2013

   Easter this year was at the ranch again, as it has been for about the last... four years? Maybe only three. But! Everyone had as great of a time as we do every year. Maybe even a better time this year, at least for darling Ashlyn. She finally was able to really participate in the whole egg hunting part of Easter. The best part!

BOY Am I Happy

  Oh my gosh. Donny was so good today. Like... so good. I could have kissed him! And I did. We walked, we trotted, we halted, we worked on ground poles, on turns, on straight lines, on stretching, and even popped over a low crossrail once. I think I tired him out. He was ready to be done for sure! But he's super lazy, he's ready to be done as soon as we get started.

Most Amazing Concert/Day Ever!

   For Valentine's day my husband bought me/us tickets to go see Muse in Dallas this past week! And let me tell you, it was worth every penny, every lost minute of sleep, every exhausted moment the next day, all the gas, and everything!

New Home Reveal!

   I know, I know! I've been promising this for awhile! I just would either forget or just didn't want to clean up the house enough for pictures! It's finally here though! I'll do before and after of each area of the house. I will however, have to get back to you on the master bath, second bedroom, garage, and backyard. Those are still "under construction" so to speak.

A Walk A Day

  Everyday Ashlyn and I take a walk.... usually it's just around the block, but sometimes we pack up the stroller with some snacks, leash up Roque and head out for a long walk around the neighborhood.

In Other News

     Because I have an instagram account for my boy Roque, I now have a TON of photos of him... Which is great because I really haven't taken many photos of my animals recently. Either I'm too busy taking photos of Ashlyn or I'm too busy cleaning the house. One or the other usually makes up the majority of my time on a daily basis.

Toddler Toilet Training, Day 14

    Well, training is going well. She usually is really on top of it and rarely has accidents. I'm so excited that she took up potty training so easily. I was dreading the process for months and months, but she has made it a breeze!

Update on Samantha

   I received an update on Sam recently from her new family. I'm so beyond blessed to have found such an amazing family for this little girl. There is no way I could have re-homed her without being a stressed out nervous wreck otherwise!

Georgia, Weddings, Horses, and more!

A lot has been going on since I last posted on here! For example, hubby and I just got home from Augusta, Georgia where hubby was a groomsman in a friend's wedding.

Toddler Toliet Training Day 2,3, & 4

   Yup, I have the cutest kid in the whole world. And she's a super star to boot! Today is day four and she's already able to stay completely dry all day even when out shopping or out to dinner.

Leaps and Bounds

   So, it's been awhile since I've done an update on my progress with Donny! I admit, it's been super super slow. I've only been able to get out to see him (along with my family) once a week or every other week. It's hard, but hopefully this is short term.

Two Years Old!

  Well, ever since moving into this new home I seem to have lost my motivation to keep up with this blog. However, don't give up on me! I'm determined to dedicate some time to journaling away our lives. This blog has kept me from forgetting so many important events and times in our lives. I won't quit now!

New Year 2013

  This year we celebrated a little different than we have ever celebrated in the past. Lets just say there were lots of stories to tell the next day.

Poor Baby

Poor baby is sick (or she was, when I wrote this blog). She's been running a mild fever the last couple days. I think it's been over a year since the last time she was like this.
