It Finally Stopped Raining

For those of you that didn't know. Texas has been being FLOODED. Literally. While those of us with property on the lake are extremely happy to have our water front property back, a lot of people have lost everything from the flooding. There's even been tornadoes.

Back In The Saddle

It's been seven months since I've ridden. Seven very long months. Somewhere in the middle of my first trimester I gave up riding for the safety of the baby. It was torture, but I knew it was just for a season. In the grand scheme of things, a fairly short season... but as of last week the dry spell is over. I'm back!

He's Here ; The 9 Months

It's crazy everything that can happen in just nine months. The time is takes for a little human to grow and be born inside of you seems like forever and also no time at all. Some days time just crawls by, and then one day (or middle of the night) you wake up and wonder where time has gone. It seems like just yesterday you were looking at that positive pregnancy test, having a minor anxiety attack, wondering how you're possibly going to be able to wait 9 more months to meet your baby!

First Real Trial Ride

So I talked one of my friends into taking the horses off the property and go on a real trail ride! I mean, it was like a four hour ride. But it was in the rain, on super rocky trails, on inexperienced horses.

My Husband the Cowboy

Something I have wanted for a very long time is to be able to go riding with my husband. Up until recently we haven't had horses that we can enjoy in any other way except for english show horses. Either jumpers, dressage or hunter/jumper. Now we finally have some horses that aren't finely tuned performance animals, so it's okay for an inexperienced rider to enjoy some time in the saddle without the risk of undoing countless hours of training.

Riding with Friends

Over the past couple of months I've been out on the trails with a few of my friends, as well as family. The nice thing about having trail horses instead of performance sport horses is that anyone can ride them! Within reason of course.

Christmas Part II

I think one of the best parts to Christmas was towards the end of the day. My sister and I got to take my aunt out on a trail ride on our beautiful property in Spicewood, TX.

So Much ; Part II

Welcoming two new horses to our barn was both very exciting and emotionally difficult so soon after saying goodbye to my boys. It helped distract me but also has made me miss my boys even more.
